West Maui

Today we ventured around west Maui. We took the local road north and came around counterclockwise. We had no idea that the road was really local and not much more than a bike path in spots. We all agreed that it was more dramatic and much more intense than the road to Hana. This is much drier and without the roadside jungle you can see how the road clings to the mountainside. There is also much less traffic- especially tourists. The family rated it one of the best all-time MFA roads. At one point Sam said I need a bottle of hair dye and a bottle of whiskey to survive the trip. That should say it all
