Another beautiful beach sunset

This is getting to be a habit!

Turtle Spotting

We decided to walk to the rocky beach to see if we could find turtles again this evening. This time the girls joined us. Alix spotted the first one and then we saw them everywhere. One tip – look for rocks that move. It’s amazing how well they are camouflaged.

Ice Cream

We have not been impressed with the ice cream of Hawaii. So, when we went to the grocery store upon arriving in Maui, we bought a quart. Today was the hottest day yet and instead of going out for ice cream they decided to come back to the condo and enjoy what we had here.

They are enjoying the eclectic collection of glass wear at the condo!

The Humpback Whale

A life sized statue outside the humpback whale center in Kihei. In the winter this is a prime spot for whale watching as they come to the warm Hawaiian waters.

Happy Belly

A delicious food truck that made our bellies happy. We had to try the purple lemonade. It was yummy! 

The Lanai

That’s Hawaiian for patio or balcony. This one is quite lovely with a beautiful view 

Snorkeling- take 2

Another nice spot for snorkeling (and even better because it’s right across the street from the condo). There are lots of submerged reefs. It seems like there is more healthy coral and other reef life, as well as some fish. We also saw another turtle swim by. This one was a lot bigger!

Morning stroll along Kamole

The tide was low this morning and the water was fairly still so we went for a walk along the shore. We were looking for the turtles again. A few brief glimpses but nothing like last night. We were treated to some great tide pools. There were urchins, crabs, and small fish. The view was pretty nice as well
